DESCRIPTION:\n \n \nDenver Country Club, North Terrace and Denver Ballroom\n 1700 E 1st Avenue\n Denver, CO 80218\n \n \n \nPresentation:\n \n“Community Response to Homelessness”\n \nby Dennis Van Kampen, President/CEO of Denver Rescue Mission \n \n \n \nPresenter:\n \nDennis Van Kampen was named President/CEO of Denver Rescue Mission in January 2024. Dennis joined the Mission after leading west Michigan's largest agency serving individuals experiencing hunger and homelessness, Mel Trotter Ministries (MTM) in Grand Rapids Michigan. He served as President/CEO for more than 10 years at MTM, where he was also previously VP of Programs.\n \nCurrently, as President/CEO, Dennis oversees the operations of Denver Rescue Mission, the oldest full­ service, Christian charity in the Rocky Mountain region.\n \nFounded in 1892, Denver Rescue Mission is a Colorado nonprofit organization that provides food, clothing, shelter, medical care, education, rehabilitation, and transitional housing to those experiencing homelessness and poverty.\n \nUnder Dennis' leadership, MTM was able to expand shelter services and develop important wraparound services that included new medical, mental health and recovery resources, workforce development initiatives, as well as prevention and diversion programs that resulted in housing more people each year.\n \nPrior to joining MTM, Dennis worked as an executive director for a camp and retreat ministry and served as a pastor. He also worked as a part-time deputy sheriff for 15 years, as well as taught as an adjunct faculty member at Cornerstone University. He holds a bachelor's in business administration and a master's in organizational/leadership from Cornerstone University.\n \nHe and his wife Kelly are proud parents of four young adult children.\n ------\n\nThis is our Annual Meeting pursuant to our Bylaws and is for DEPC members only (no guests).\n \nDrinks and appetizers will be served outside on the patio, and we will move inside for announcements and the presentation.\n \nParking is available anywhere in the Denver Country Club parking lot. The main entrance is on the northeast side. Business attire is required. The Denver Country Club does not permit cell phone usage on the property.\n
