DTSTAMP:20260429T142436Z
DESCRIPTION:\n \n \nThe Program:\n \nUnique Ways to Grant Funding With a Private Foundation\n How Foundations Can Grant to Individuals and For-Profit Organizations\n \n \n \nAlthough every charitable giving vehicle routinely gives to publicly supported charities, it’s a little-known fact among financial and legal advisors that private foundations are capable of granting directly to individuals and families in need. Although grants to individuals remain a small portion of foundations’ overall granting, [Foundation Source](http://www.foundationsource.com/) often assists foundations with administering them during times of emergency and hardship such as natural disasters and global conflict.\n \nAdditionally, it’s not well known that foundations can grant to for-profit organizations as well, as long as the funding supports defined charitable projects.\n \nThis discussion will help advisors have more informed conversations with their foundation clients about these granting capabilities, including when they’re feasible and when advance IRS approval may be required (compliance concerns will be addressed). Ultimately, we hope it helps those clients achieve greater impact with their philanthropic funds. \n \n \n \nPresented By:\n \nJeffrey D. Haskell, J.D., LL.M.\n Chief Legal Officer and Executive Vice President\n \nJeff Haskell is a top expert in the areas of private foundation law, compliance and taxation.
